Kajsa Ekis Ekman is a Swedish author and journalist born 1980 in Stockholm. She is the author of several works about patriarchy and capitalism and how the two systems intersect. Kajsa writes for the culture section of the Swedish major daily Aftonbladet and is a columnist at the Norwegian newspaper Klassekampen, often on issues relating to geopolitics, Latin America and privatization politics. She has also been published internationally in the Guardian, TruthDig and Feminist Current. Kajsa was awarded the Sara Lidman Prize in 2015 and the Lenin Prize in 2020.

She has given more than a thousand lectures nationally and internationally, including Sydney Festival of Dangerous Ideas, the European Parliament, Parliament of France, Chamber of Deputees in Mexico, Serbian Woman's Festival, Massachusetts Turn Off the Red Light Campaign, Battle of Ideas UK, Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Universidad de Alicante.

Kajsa Ekman authored three books, her book Being and Being Bought – Prostitution, Surrogacy and the Split Self (Spinifex, 2013) has been published in five languages. Stolen Spring (Kedros, 2014) describes how the eurocrisis affected the Greek economy and was a critique of the Troika's austerity measures. The book won her the award Swedish-Greek of the Year 2014, and her Ted Talk “Everybody Talks About Capitalism, But What Is It?” has been viewed 248 000 times. Her most recent book On The Meaning of Sex (Spinifex, forthcoming) was published in Swedish and Spanish in 2021, and discusses gender identity theory and its implications for women, children and homosexuals. On the Meaning of Sex is a book that has been noted “the most debated book of the year” in Sweden, and has been number one on the list of most sold non-fiction books. (Adlibris)
