What is SOHRI?

The Swedish Observatory for Human Rights Information (SOHRI) is a not-for-profit organization that documents rights violations and holds governments accountable for their domestic and international human rights obligations.

Headquartered in the city of Lund, Sweden, SOHRI is comprised of researchers, lawyers, journalists, and activists who amplify the demands of people and advocate their rights and freedoms.

What does SOHRI do?

The Swedish Observatory for Human Rights Information (SOHRI) researches and documents human rights violations in different countries and regions. We rely on primary sources to report on events and issues that would otherwise go uncovered, channeling our research and analysis into press releases, articles, in-depth reports, videos and other multimedia products.

SOHRI engages in extensive media outreach around the globe to raise public awareness of human rights issues, and intensive international advocacy to build strategic coalitions that will advance human rights initiatives in the world.

Who is SOHRI’s audience?

Governments and UN officials worldwide, media leaders, NGOs, responsible corporate leaders and concerned citizens around the world. We try to produce all of SOHRI’s work in both English, Arabic and Swedish, supporting our mission to reach citizens of various countries as well as a global audience.
