Egypt: Drop baseless charges against human rights defenders and activists
On Wednesday, 30 November, 2022 - The Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression (AFTE) in Egypt published the following joint statement and open letter. The Swedish Observatory for Human Rights Information publicly support, agree with, and sign the letter and joins in calling on the Egyptian government to drop baseless charges against human rights defenders and activists and Egypt, and furthermore, stop the continued repression of the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights staff.

Egypt: Lawyer arrested during COP27
(Cairo) - On the night of November 7th, Lawyer Ahmed Nazir Elhelw was arrested from his house in Cairo. Mr. Elhelw is a prominent lawyer who works on several human rights cases in Egypt.
