JENNIFER FOSTER
Advisory Director

Jennifer Foster is a migrant worker currently living and working in London as a Researcher and Advisor on Refugee and Migrant Rights for Amnesty International’s International Secretariat. As someone who grew up in a working class “blue collar” family in the Midwestern United States, she takes special interest in considering how to highlight human rights issues in a way that brings greater understanding and connection to people who often feel left out of the conversation. In her current role, Jennifer has co-authored a major report on illegal pushbacks of refugees and migrants on the Greece/Turkey land border and written or been interviewed for several news outlets on the topic, as well as on other refugee protection concerns. In her previous work for Amnesty International, Jennifer coordinated the movement’s global response to human rights defenders at risk or in danger due to their work. She has worked and lived in East Africa and the United States with the US Refugee Assistance Program, managing resettlement programs in her home town of Kansas City as well as coordinating the re-launch of the Family Reunification Program for the USA. In her “free” time, she serves as a trustee on the board of GraceAid charity, and makes an attempt at juggling work and parenting.
